So tidying up my paperwork and noticed that the first owner of my car was named 'James Hull Esq', so I thought, signing Esq after the name - might be someone interesting.

Which led me to discover a former dentist by the name of Dr. James Hull who recently sold the UKs largest private car collection. I wonder if it was his previous car?

Any way to find out?

I think for a modest fee, the DVLA will provide the previous owner details to you.
The dentistry Dr Hulls is shown to live in Knightsbridge.
The is also a medical Dr James Hulls.

If your car was owned by Dr Hulls, the collector of a huge number of cars, one would have thought few would be sold, particularly an Aston Martin. Perhaps you bought yours after the entire collection had been sold to Jaguar.

He wasn't the immediate previous owner, and I got my car through Nicholas Mee.

Would be interesting to know if it was originally his car due to the famous collection he had!

I once applied to the DVLA for details of my car (not the AM), and information about all the owners was provided. It is not just the immediate previous owner.

I might be uncertain about researching. It would be unfortunate to discover, that a car was rejected for that wonderful collection. ( Only kidding ) - smile

Looking at his collection, I certainly wouldn't be upset about it not being kept - they were some rare and exotic cars! Mine is a (compared to his collection) lowly early DB9.

I should be happy someone with so many cars and access to any car he wanted got a DB9 smile
