I have a 14 plate A3 with less than 10,000 miles on the odo.

My local garage had a look at the tyres because they are cracked between the tread blocks all the way round and pretty much across the whole tread width.

Nothing in the side walls and never run (during my ownership) under-inflated. Concern expressed....

Audi have offered to submit the tyres to Dunlop under warranty if I'm prepared to put new Dunlop tyres on.

My indie says that Dunlop are not unknown for "quality" issues.

Suggestions for a way forwards that don't involve great outlay or the services of some 5h1tehawk lawyer much appreciated....

I had FK452's years ago on an A3 V6, had to replace all four in a year as they were ruined on the inner side. Thought its time to get a decent tyre, stuck F1s on and got the car aligned (not tracking!) - felt like a brand new car!

Either be prepared for a long term issue or just cut your losses and get some new tyres.

The last Dunlop's I used were on an R32, they were ok, nothing special.

I don't think its a tracking issue as all 4 tyres are worn equally across their width, and I'm not complaining about excessive wear either. The fronts have 5mm and the rears are 6-7mm. But the cracks are about 1-1.5mm wide and are completely around the circumference of the tyre and there are 10-15 of them on each tyre.

Not a mark on the sidewalls and I run them at the correct pressure.

They won't be replaced with Dunlops, that's for sure!

What is the DOT on the tyres? Very strange to have cracks in them unless they put some very old stock tyres on.
