Any advice on fitting an X pipe to a factory system. I'm trying to improve the exhaust note?

Have spent some time over the past couple of weeks removing and adding wadding to my Autobionics system. For me the best sound has been achieved by removing the wadding in the top silencer where the x pipe is housed but leaving it in the bottom two silencers.

Clive did that years back... straight through with link pipe between banks and no silencers.... was unbelievably loud, even got told never to return at Bruntingthorpe which I thought had no noise limits lol.

on my canam I made an exhaust that had straight through silencers which then turned 90deg back towards the front into an X trap and then 90 deg and back out the car... was much quieter/deeper and yet much free flowing than the original silencers I had which were very restrictive.

Had lots of flames out the back as well which you will need to be very careful about as if your tips are not well placed it could (and has for some people) set fire to the clam.

I ran straight throughs for this year's Bournemouth Wheels festival and then also at Wilton.

To all that spoke to me they said it sounded phenomenal. However, I could not live with it like that day to day

Hi Bart any pics of exhaust m8 plan is to just try it wondering iff a quicker exit to get rid of heat out of the system as my under clamb temps get high thinking silencers are the culprit

Going back a few years. I replaced the factory silencers with a set of Borla race silencers. Alright my car is a canam but a calibrated noise meter positioned between the driver and passengers heads was giving readings that would seriously damage your hearing even at mild throttle openings! Cannot imagine what straight through would be like!
