Occasionally I get horrendous indigestion after a fatty meal, been to the docs, did blood tests and nothing conclusive, went back after three weeks with no problems and she said to come back end of November and see how I am getting on, come back sooner if any further issues.
On Thursday I had a really greasy sandwich and some crisps, at it too quick and off we go, band of pain all round back and front, burping and feeling full, cant get comfortable, eventually it eases and I am ravenous so have a meal and it sets it back off, ate too much as was hungry. Had the symptoms of back pain, very yellow pee and beige poo which is all connected with it, havent got any jaundice and am drinking loads of water to flush it through.
It has subsided and things going back to normal, feel ok but a bit drained/sore have an appointment booked for tomorrow first thing, was on the verge of going to casualty at one point.

Alright. Was your liver function tested when the bloods were done? I have fatty liver and i get the symptoms you are describing. Gallstones in my case hasn't been ruled out yet either and i'm off to have an ultrasound done next week.
Stay away from booze and fatty stuff was the instruction. Easier said than done!

Yeah, thats what I have to do, Liver function was marginally low and she mentioned fatty liver and kidney function was slightly high.Stay away from booze and fatty stuff was the instruction. Easier said than done!
I have Low Thyroid which is a bit of a factor in this as well I believe.
Looked at the symptoms for Fatty Liver and they don't really apply to be honest, I like a drink but limit it to weekends, went six weeks without any to lose some weight, but I know you can get it without booze, also booze hasnt triggered it, healthy meal with booze seems fine, eat something really greasy and boom.
I think you get to 40 plus, its like a car that still runs ok unless you thrash it

I have similar..
Mine is more heart burn though, with the occasional indigestion thrown in... I also have under active thyroid (75mg thyroxine per day at the moment).
I went private and had a Gastroscopy, found a hiatus hernia small gallstones and a small amount of fat on liver.
So far indigestion tablets are keeping it at bay, but not always. but i do really need to sort my diet out more.

I am on 100 Mg, I have private through work but will see what the doc says tomorrow.
I dont mind being careful but a couple of pints and a curry are one of lifes pleasures I dont want to lose.
its weird, I go in the pub and work with folk who drink every single night, eat crap and seem to have no ill effects, well, if they do they arent letting on, one of the managers at work claims to have six to eight pints every night and it inst bravado either going by the beer belly.
Wouldnt mind, cycled in three days last week, third day this comes on so had to ride home, not a personal best or pleasant experience

Yip, pretty much had the pain as described. Used to happen infrequently so my GP prescribed co-codamol and book me for an ultrasound.The ultrasound identified stones so I think you should be pushing for that initially.
That all happened in the first part of the year but any episodes of such pain all but disappeared until about August. So, back to the GP I went and got a surgical referral to get the problem dealt with which was a 16 week waiting list (Scotland).
Fortunately or unfortunately things kicked off fairly swiftly in September when I ended up visiting A&E with major pain, vomiting, and looking like a Simpson's extra.
Instead of a 16 week wait I ended up as an emergency job first getting and endoscopy procedure to deal with a rogue stone sitting in the bottom of my bile duct and a couple of days later a laparoscopic cholesystectomy to take out the gallbladder.
Erm, short story - Push to get diagnosed if the symptoms are getting frequent. You should feel much improved afterwards and back to normal in no time.

If it is gallstones you don't want to leave it. I had my gall-bladder out last year due to horrific abdominal pains the like of which I never want to experience again. Ultimately it can get to quite a dangerous situation and the attacks for me became random and inconsistent with diet.
One attack came when I was driving the A9 and I ended up doubled-over clutching onto the side of the car.

Yeah, no inclination to leave it, want it sorted, it is horrible but thanks for the reassurance that it can be sorted, I am lucky that I have private insurance through work so wont have to wait, been paying the tax on it for years so if it is there I will use it.
Get more sympathy on here than at home, my wife told me stop being pathetic and that of course your wee is yellow in the morning, good job she isnt a doctor.

Loads of sympathy from me, even a female colleague here truly reckoned that gallstones passing through was worse than giving birth. My GB was found to be folded over and trapping small stones with one being ejected every so often...Get more sympathy on here than at home, my wife told me stop being pathetic and that of course your wee is yellow in the morning, good job she isnt a doctor.
I was actually taken to hospital once in Norway with an attack and they failed to diagnose the problem - thought it was a heart attack, muppets. I was running a fever too so it could have been Cholecystitis. Anyway, I made sure that surgery happened in the UK and was lucky to go private too.

My partner had the same issue before we met so I scored well with diagnosis, sympathy, and getting looked after.Hmm. I have private too so wondering if just get it sorted once and for all.

Couple of cocodamol and blood tests later and i was home. It was after a couple of magners and a bag of chilli and lime popcorn at the pictures. Went to see Legend, very god it was too.

I am feeling so much better than I did but I still can feel it, had to take an Omzaperazole as was getting reflux, the one time I was sick with this it just made things worse, sort of burnt my throat so been trying to avoid it.
Funny how proper boozers and real chubbers can seem to manage ?

Went to docs, she also thinks its Gallstones, she is sending me for an Ultrasound, well doing a referral as will use the work scheme.
She said the typical outcome is removal, so, out of interest what is the procedure for that, assuming its a general and then how long before back to work ?
