Best way to remove overspray from vinyl

Found an unused tonneau for my TR3 while helping to tidy a friends garage. Unfortunately it looks to have picked up some overspray during its time in storage. Anyone got any tips on the best way to remove it without wrecking the vinyl cheers

Some harsh stuff like thinners will get it off but you're never quite sure if it will damage the vinyl - you could try it on a small area first.

I've had some success using t-cut and a tooth brush when removing paint from a plastic dash.

Try heavy duty "Big Wipes", they seem to get pretty much anything off anything. Last w/e I spilled some heating oil on a pair of new suede/nubuck type boots, tried everything from thinners to baking powder solution, vinegar, detergent, the lot. I was about to bin them when I spotted my tub of Big Wipes and 10 secs later they were like new.

In fact the wipes container had some overspray on from when I was tidying up some black trim about 3 months ago. in the interests of science I just had a go and with a good rub the spray came off the plastic tub, so worth a shot I reckon.

I have used a thinners rag many times for overspray, no problems provided you do not soak the rag to dripping! And wash off immediately with warm soapy water.....

Had a go at it with thinners last night in the shed. Did small areas at a time and immediately washed down with soap and water, left it to dry and woke up this morning to a new looking tonneau. Next job for the weekend is stamping out some fastner holes , cheers guys
