Ordering glasses and lenses online?

In the process of buying some new glasses and lenses….looking in the high street shops prices are spectacularly expensive (£199 frames and £265 lenses). So I’m looking to do it online, after getting my prescription done in Boots.

The frames I want only seem to be available in a Swiss store (£132), and they are unable to get high index (1.74) lenses that I want. So it’s going to be a case of buying the frames, then sending them off elsewhere to have lenses made and fitted.

Anyone done this before, especially with having the lenses done separately to the frame provider ? Any tips / downsides?
