Thanks for the pics, reminds us what it's all about (not the wind though, hope you're feeling better).
Wind-man is the approved ground clearance inspector; once again informing me of my failure to avoid lip to ground contact

It's not me fellow, I've got my buttocks tightly squeezed trying to negotiate the massive 3mm kerb

Great pics btw. Bet the sound from both of them was just as good! Love the wheels on the 997

I love that car....
Last drive????
As I mentioned on the phone the other day Steve, it looks like she is going. I have tried to ease the transition of the loss with this project, deep down though, I know the car is irreplaceable and I will only have memories of the greatness that makes this car what it is. Just glad to have been fortunate enough to own and drive the most complete drivers tool I will ever come across in my life time.Last drive????

Comparison review ?
The cars are worlds apart, I have tried to line up cmoose on a few occasions as his penning skills are somewhat better than mine and also I would want to eliminate the natural bias I would have. LaSource summed up the difference quite well recently when he briefly jumped into my car; bear in mind he was stepping out of his tricked up 996GT3, when he said 'it's like a Cup car in here'. The 991GT3 is beautiful, like what I would expect of the Turbo in terms of refinement and finish. It is incredibly quick and just simply delivers on so many levels (this is what the market needs today). My RS has just one dimension, but, and it's a big but, in this dimension, it has no equal, it is brutal, it takes no prisoners and will punish you for every little error you make (I've made many
trying to tame this beast). If telepathic connection is what you are looking for and can sacrifice a few gimmicks and all the fluff, then the experience this car delivers is very special...When I get a moment, I'll try and put a few words together...
I presume someone made you an offer you could not refuse,,,,,,,,,,,, I understand this, its difficult to ignore.
To me, your RS is what all GT cars should be about, a road legal race car, no bull just does what it says on the tin.
I would have your 997 RS over the 991 GT3 or 991 RS any day, cant be doing with modern driver aids, I like a car that I can tell it what to do
Its probably because I started driving in Escorts in the 70's!!!
Enjoy your new project.

The car looks wonderful, i'm suprised that the Gen 2 spoiler works, but it does.
Is that the Cup splitter? How on earth do you make that work on the road?
Most importantly though, i love the BBS. Could i please request you share more details on the specification as i plan to order some? If they are 'off the shelf', i'd also appreciate your feedback on how happy you are with the offset as i am aiming fo an aggressive, square stance.

Absolutely agree. This is a unique car unlikely ever to be repeated due the values of the base car. Fantastic provenace also.To me, your RS is what all GT cars should be about, a road legal race car, no bull just does what it says on the tin.

You will never be bored owning this car, and that is a rare thing
It looks like a cup car
It smells like a cup car
As soon as you fall in and try shutting the lightweight doors, it feels like a cup car
As it drives off going through the gears, it sounds like a cup car
...ergo it is a cup car (albeit with number plates)
...at 11pm as it woke up local residents, I am sure they swore at the cup car outside too
I am sure you will miss it.
