I have a noise like a grinding/rubbing when manoeuvring slowly to park etc from the front suspension. Car is due a service soon but its only done 14,000 miles so would`t have thought anything was that worn. Any ideas/recommendations.
cheers Kevin

I would imagine the tyre tread is getting low and causing this noise, usually happens when manoeuvring at low speed on full lock to lock manoeuvre's.

Its more than likely due to the Ackerman angle of the suspension and if so, perfectly nomal.

Could be that- but I'm a bit surprised if he hasn't heard it before in 14000 miles (assuming the OP has had the car for that long). I'm not sure I'd really describe the noise as grinding or rubbing either. I'd describe the (lack of) Ackerman noise as scrubbing/scrabbling. When it's bad the car moves forward in a rather agriculturally jerky fashion. The cold weather does tend to make it worse, and bigger wheels tend to be worse too.
