Thinking about buying a A4 Avant B6 Quattro
Discussion
Good evening ladies and gents,
I'm currently after a derv estate, and the Audi A4 Avant (B6) has caught my eye as its in my price range and is quite a handsome car.
I've seen one for sale in East Kilbride which is a 1.9tdi Quattro SE,
Below I have attached the link for the advert
https://www.gumtree.com/p/audi/audi-a4-avant-1.9td...
However I find that the price for these varies greatly & would appreciate if this is a decent buy, on paper anyway.
Second question is I'm finding it near impossible to find any with leather interior, I know the b6/b7s are the same interior wise/ interchangeable, however can you install a b6 saloon interior into a b6 Avant? Might be a bit mad asking this when I haven't even seen the car/ bought an Avant yet but this info would be handy as that's always been my first mod when I've bought a car without leather.
Cheers!
Elliot

Older, cheaper 1.9TDI engined Audis do indeed vary wildly in price. They have a (generally) well earned reputation for doing a billion miles and not going far wrong. Because of this a lot get asked to do a billion miles on a budget of nothing. These cars end up knackered, crap and cheap.
With reasonable maintenance they are very good cars and will indeed do silly miles and anyone that knows they have a good example will recognise the fact that their car is the exception to the rule and ask a premium accordingly.
Saloon back seats won't go in an Avant. Front seats probably have the same mountings but I'd want to check if the airbags were compatible first between different generations of vehicle).
Buy the best maintained car you can find and try not to be too particualr about the exact mileage and specification. A used interior for one of these isn't worth a lot anymore so you can ebay whatever seats you like, get them cleaned and conditioned then bolt them in over a weekend.
Don't discount Passats or Octavias either.
