Need Basque Foodstuffs

So, thinking of throwing a dinner party, classic Basque cuisine and wines, can't get the right stuff locally, so thought I'd leg it over to the place itself, camp or B&B for a couple of days then return at some pace to throw said dinner party.... Obviously, Norfolk to Northern Spain is only twenty minutes in beastie, so it's only the ferry that will slow us down...

Any experience of such a trip would be greatly received.... All thoughts welcome....

I took the easy route in the motorhome 3 years ago. Southampton to Santander return on an enormous ferry, both ways, large vehicle and cabin included. about a grand.

Great time on the ship, Nightlife, bars, cinemas, you are there before you know it!

We Toured the Picos mountains. Such beautiful roads and eff all cars. I swear we drove for half an hour one day without coming across another vehicle.

We are doing the same this year but taking the chim. Some might think it's the soft approach but you can start your holiday the moment you leave Southampton and leave the initial crap stuff behind.

I've just remembered, last time going out we hooked up with a couple of families in the bar. Our daughter playing guitar, a lad playing jazz trumpet and another girl with a fabulous voice singing. By 4am we realised that we were the only people up on the ship, us and the barman of course !
