I'm looking at building (or buying ready built) a short wheel base Sport Quattro replica. Dialynx do the shell conversion at a not too silly price but do you guys know of anyone else doing them? I heard there was a bloke Maidstone way and saw his personal car which was perfection but don't know his company.
If anyone knows of any cars for sale or of anyone reputable to convert a car for me that'd be greatbiggrin

RS Motorsport Workshops could be the place you're thinking of? They also did RS200 replicas I think?

Bill something or other.

Glad to help. Look forward to seeing what you get.

I had wanted a Sport replica myself many years ago after seeing a real one and used to live in Maidstone, which is why I remembered them.

Please don't, they're too rare to cut and shut.

Both the Quattro and Coupé Quattro are Type 85 chassis. Given the work going into shortening and widening one and the availability of 2.2 I5 Turbo motors of various kinds in other Audis of the early 90s, you might as well start with a CQ base rather than a real Quattro.

I agree I don't think it makes sense financially or from a rarity point of view to cut up a real Quattro. I believe Dialynx start with whatever is available, but to make an accurate replica you also need a 80/90 for its screen and A pillars. I'm just after a bit of a track toy so I'll be doing it the most economically viable route (so basically the cheapest base I can find smile )
