Ive just tried to get on to firefox and it presented me with a choice of profiles to log on as, seeing as i only have one profile I tried to choose default but it wouldnt let me open it saying that it was already in use, although there were no firefox windows open. I have had to create a new peofile called Default user which has now lost all my passwords and bookmarks and i cant find how to change profiles anywhere ive been on firefox for about four months now and havent had anything like this before, can anyone offer any help?

If you get that happen just CTRL-ALT-DEL and shut down the firefox.exe process that's still running.

Indeed, happens to me all the time, but that's cos I do a lot of JAVA stuff.

Use task manager to "end process" on firefox.exe as mentioned above and you can then restart with your old information intact.
