Food poisoning! How long to get out OS system
Discussion
Any advice? Both myself and hubs had terrible stomach, and hubs really sick after a finest lasagne, him much more than me as he ate more, I feel better, but his stomach is still playing up, any tips to get him back to normal apart from small meals and drinking lots of water, this started Sunday afternoon and still going on
Many thanks

A week or more unfortunately. Drink plenty (water that is), take rehydration salts (Diarolyte), don't take Imodium only helps to keep it in your system not flush it out. Eat whatever you can manage.
Out of interest when you say the source of it was a Finest Lasagne was that a Tesco one? Be very surprised if you got food poisoning from a ready meal unless it was either out of data or hadn't be stored properly?

Depends entirely on what you've eaten.
Last time I ate a dodgy oyster, I was violently sick within about 30 minutes (burst capillaries around the eyes violently sick) and that was the end of the matter. The previous time, many years ago, I spent two days violently evacuating from both ends and one of the other diners ended up in hospital.
Food poisoning can be literally poisoning, where for example bacteria have secreted a toxin into the food or seafood has accumulated a toxic substance from its environment, in which case your body will probably succeed in getting rid of it all in short order. It can also be a gastrointestinal infection, where something you ate is now living and breeding in your guts, in which case it will usually pass in a day or two but might take a lot longer - Campylobacter can take 7-10 days before symptoms begin and a severe case can last 3 weeks. Some of them can cause chronic illness which persists indefinitely.

Don't know what happened to me last night in the space of around 15 mins I started feeling really tired so went to my bed, soon after my muscles were aching and I started shivering uncontrollably then I started vomiting every 10 mins or so all night.
Never slept a wink due to restlessness feel slightly better as the vomiting has stopped but feeling really spaced and restless still.
My stomach has been a bit iffy the last few days really crampy so reckon it's probably a virus.
