First time Boxster purchase

Hi.. It's been a while since I had a sports car but I am feeling the need again. Previously owned a TVR S and a Jaguar XK coupe and now I am considering a Boxster.

We need a second car as we have a X1 M Sport as our daily car but work now requires me to do a lot more travel. The BMW can tick that box. My wife does a daily commute which totals about 25 miles and to be honest a fiesta Zetec just isn't getting anyone excited!

Budget is up to £8000. I would like to get a feel for what I should be looking for, running cost, reliability, best place to insure etc. We live in Essex near Maldon and we are looking to buy in the next two weeks.

Watching this with interest ,wife want to try a porsche and the boxster is the only one she likes and we can hopefully afford.But she wants the 987 version 2.7 on 8k budget !

I think to get a decent one which isnt going to cost you or have problems to spoil the experiance you will probably need 10k. Otherwise its going to be a lottery buying a high mileage car which may or nay not have been loved

I think that's a bit pessimistic. I paid less than 4k for mine and its never let me down or been out of action. I appreciate it might be a lottery when buying but good ones are out there for less than 8K.
