Remote Fuse 22 switch
Discussion
Hi all,
Not sure this has been posted before but I've just fitted the remote Fuse 22 switch -

Absolute pleasure to deal with Clive who talked me through fitting it. As someone who is not overly technically skilled it was a piece of cake. Anyone wanting to remove Fuse 22 without it being a permanent this is a great compromise.

He must be busy at the moment. He fitted mine on Friday for me. Great run home with the top done and the difference was fantastic. Really neat job and the fobs he provides are so much better than the opposition. Top guy!
No connection with Clive just think it is a great product
Back to Exeter Ian? :-)No connection with Clive just think it is a great product

No connection with Clive either, just a thought he was an absolute pleasure to deal with and a decent product!
I purchased the same remote from Clive via eBay about 4 weeks ago. I can also repeat that he was a pleasure to deal with, although was just a simple eBay sale he was very quick to offer any further advice and help needed as I had literally bought the car that day.
Mine was straight infra service, so the garage fitted the remote for me.
Can highly recommend Clive to anyone thinking of having the ability to open and close the exhaust valves applicable small remote control.

Is it a drawback (albeit a small one) that you can start the car with the exhaust switch off?
Not sure what you mean. The switch has no impact on the starting of the car. It starts as AML intended and then you hit the 'unlock button' when you would the valves to be open all the time. I think the benefit of this is to keep the valves working and means they will never get stuck which is one of the potential problems perceived from pulling fuse 15/22.I have a different type of switch on my V12VR which is not remote and the valves stay open all the time - unless I change them to normal or stealth when the valves are closed. I do that every so often to make sure they keep active.

Thats what I'm looking for, I thought I read that with the other system you have to start the car before you can turn off the valves, so you would not be able to have a loud start up.

Remember that a standard car with fuse 22 (or 15) in place, will start with the exhaust valves open.
0 to 1,500 rpm = valves open.
Jon is quite right. I am not aware of any switch which will make the car louder on start up than it is as it comes out of the factory. The switch changes the characteristics of the car between 1,500 rpm and 4,000 rpm (or 2,500/3,000 rpm if you have a sports button).
I drive ours most of the time with the sports button pressed in but still found the switch worthwhile.

Do you think it would be possible to pair the remote unit with the garage remote buttons that I have in the rear view mirror? That would make for an even neater installation. Not that I had much joy pairing it with my actual garage door
Yes, it can be done. You do need to use 2 of the three buttons, however. One to open and one to close the valves.
