Golf R MDI Issue

Hi all,

Was just curious to see if anyone has had any issues with their media cable?

Mine seems to have just stopped working, the lightning version fwiw. Thought it may have been my iPhone 5S however, have upgraded to a 6S but it's still not working.

Anyone come across the same issue and found a fix?

Mine never worked. I split it open and found that some of the wires were not soldered up.

I'm not confident enough to open mine up, so will have to give VW a call. Hopefully they have one lying around rather than having to order.

Pop in and ask if they'll swap it under warranty.

My one is pretty much borked after about 6 months of use. Why they didn't just go with regular USB I'll never know

They have now with the newer 2016MY models, but unfortunately anyone who bought before is stuck with crappy MDI

Hi all,

Thanks for the advice.

Rang the service dealer that I use (different franchise to that which I placed my order through). They didn't call me back so just popped in, which I think prompted them to be a little quicker about their actions. New lead ordered and no mention of me having to pay which is a result.

On the bad news front, neighbour (lives opposite) just had their CLA nicked over the weekend. The buggers broke into their house and stole the keys, thankfully no one was hurt. Has me slightly worried and paranoid now!

Yeah, they also have apple car play and a better screen
