Anyone got decent madras recipe's. No jar or packet mix is anything like a takeaway so going to have to do it from scratch.

Also be interested in other takeaway curry recipe's

I use Madhur Jaffrey's 'Curry Bible' , It's full of different recipes. every one I've tried has been excellent

They tend to be on the mild side if made exactly as the recipe so I chuck in a few scotch bonnets or bird eyes chili's

Madhur Jaffrey will get you more authentic Indian stuff, since you seem to be looking for takeaway check out the forum at curry-recipes.co.uk - it's the pistonheads of restaurant style curry recipe forums.

Best advice is to pick up the Sainsburys Curry book, costs £5.

Great recipes, easy to follow, all ingredients easy to find (in Sainsburys funnily enough ...) and the dishes are excellent.

I used to use Pat Chapman's (The Curry Club) recipe for Madras and it was a pretty good dish.

This was back in the day when he used to email a packet of spices with the recipe printed on the back.

I kept the recipe and now use my own spices. If you PHmail me, I can send you the recipe
