Spoke to VW Salesman as my Golf was being serviced. Initial offer was
10% Deposit - £3000
36 repayments - £464
GFV - £15000
APR - 6.6%
Discount - 5%

How are other PHers doing? Is this par for the course?

Thanks!

£34,704 all in. Assuming base spec (£29k list?) then sounds expensive

There's a thread with almost 5500 posts just a few down from this one. You can see what others are getting there.

PCP != Lease

(But given the lease figures, PCP seems a bit barmy)

All a far cry from 1 year ago :-(

£1650 down, £185 a month due to a huge 23k GMFV

The PCP quote I got last year was £2k down, £360 a month. 3 door DSG, metallic, 19", Leather, Keyless.

In the end I changed to lease although now wishing I kept my PCP deal as I will want to keep it longer than the 24 months eek

Ive had a look at the lease thread - thanks!

I was a slightly more interested in PCP as I assume come end of the deal the dealership offer you slightly more than the GFV to tempt you into another deal? Can anyone confirm this?

It does seem as if the deals are not as good as they once were. I got the impression that there is not much stock floating about at present. Still waiting for a demonstrator vehicle - current demo vehicle just sold.

Your aren't guaranteed to get any more than the guaranteed future value. It is normally the case that there should be some equity in the deal to help you jump into a new car. It's a little dangerous to assume that'll be the case now with the R.

The issue is that there has been so many sold that the supply is going to be plenty when all the leases have run out. Dealers are going to have lots of secondhand cars to shift.
