Golf Vr6 with 1.8t conversion
Discussion
This is my first car in a long while worthy of readers cars (bar a brief spell with a v70 t5)
It was bought off face ache having only seen a few photos of it at a distance, I didn't even see it in the flesh until it was delivered. It was bought with a broken gearbox but I collected a new one a week before I committed to buying the golf.
Current spec is agu 1.8t with k03 turbo, emerald k3 ecu, lightened g60 flywheel and Kevlar vr6 clutch, broken g60 gearbox (I have got a mk3 16v Gti box to fit), qpeng downpipe, unknown coil overs and various other bits and bobs.

Now that the bodywork is average at best, the interior has been badly stripped out and I don't like the wheels, head lights or rear lights. The plan is to go for some 15" steels, with three odd wheel trims, raise the suspension and put standard lights on front and back. I also want to get a full interior back in.
Engine wise I'm looking at going for a k04-23 or possibly a t28 if I can find a manifold or adapter with supporting mods then I can get it remapped to suit. I was always on planning on sending it to my local place to get it set up so I might as well do it all at once to save a bit further down the line.
It's going to be a slow burning project but hopefully I will end up with a nice sleeper at the end of it.

I'm not too clued up on the VW kit but will a Nissan t28 fit? They're dirt cheap, I'd go for a gt28rs though, had one on the last car before the gt30. Awesome turbo

Well my project it going nice and slowly!
The new gearbox is in, it's had new bushes, drop links, ball joints, discs and pads. The cheapo coilovers have been swapped for H&R dampers with Eibach -30mm prokit springs. The bumpers have been swapped for faded black plastic ones, the twin headlights have gone and the side skirts have been removed to reveal plenty of rust!
I have got some new cills to replace the crusty ones and I'm looking out for some new tyres for the Audi pepper pots I have got.
I will get there in the end, hopefully!
