Anyone know what the skiing will be like in banff for the middle 2 weeks of April (Only time we can get away)?
We're both beginners, but have been skiing before BTW.

I was in Whistler in the first week of April and that was great. A little slushy down low which is fine if you are on a plank.

It will be getting a little barren then depending on the weather. Also, depending on which resort you go to.

Sunshine Village is the highest, so the snow stays the longest.

Lake Louise has snow making equipment, so may have a better cover at that time.

Those are the two largest ski areas in Banff Nat park, both are great.

I've gone in April before and it can be fantastic. +5 or 10 at the chalet at the bottom with beer is good, while it's just below 0 at the top, so the snow stays nice.

You'll definately want good sunglasses and sunscreen, it will be bright.

I'm hoping to be out there at the end of March sometime. Yippee!

Jammy Git.........I was born in Fernie B.C. and never been able to get back there. My family came back into the UK when I was 4 months old. Please take mucho pictures and post them up.

I've heard the skiing is excellent by the way.
