Pico - Craft Beer at Home ("like Nespresso for beer")

Apologies if this has already been discussed but I haven't seen anything and the search feature didn't reveal any previous topics.
I was reading about the "Pico" earlier and it appeals to my love of beer and gadgets so I thought I'd share.
It's a Kickstarter at the moment and for a pledge of $499 you get a microwave-sized unit that you connect up to a 5L keg and then brew your own beer using a pod system similar to those you get for coffee machines. In this case the pods (or "PicoPak" as they call them) contain tasty beer ingredients rather than coffee. A boozy Sodastream perhaps?

It looks like the PicoPak pods are going to be about $20 so each 5L brew doesn't exactly come out super-cheap and you have to wait before you can drink it rather than just press a button and get instant beer on demand but it's a sound start. We can't be that far from a machine that allows you to have a pint of your chosen brew without the need to visit a trendy bar and pay £5.00 for a 1/3 of a pint.
It's on the wish-list but it's below a sous vide, apparently once the Kickstarter ends the units will be $1000, at that point it becomes totally pointless from a cost point of view.
