Oil Pump/pump assembly question

After some one with experience with the oil pump, or at least has one laying about.

How "tight" should rotation be on a rebuilt oil pump assembly, only after having carefully completed one it seems, well overly tight for my liking but may well be designed that way.

any experience with old or new would be appreciated!

I rebuilt mine with new rotors and new water pump seals and it was pretty easy, little finger and not much force at all.
