Union problem

I currently work in distribution for a large supermarket, we are represented by a union which over time more and more of my colleagues have lost faith in, they are the only union at our distribution centre and I'm wondering if it's possible to get another union in to represent us??

We would want our employer to recognise the new union otherwise it would seem pointless to to bring a different union in which our employer wouldn't recognise.

Is it the union as a whole or just the local branch that you have lost confidence with? Can you contact the area organisers - they may be able to send a full time officer down to discuss any problems.

Or why not get involved yourself - unions are meant to be democratic, put yourself up for election, get a proposer and seconder then see what happens.
