Hi all

Is there any drug buffs or gps out there who can tell me if I'm okay to get hammered tomorrow night? Been taking 500mg twice a day, just had my second today. I'm happy to skip a day so if I don't take any tomorrow will I be okay to get drunk in the evening?

The advice seems to be not to mix the two but how long do you need to leave it?

I took Naproxen for a bit with a shoulder injury and was specifically told by the quack to not drink with them. Think it can increase your chance of a stomach bleed or something.

I had an extended period of taking 3 a day. No one said anything about alcohol to me and I didn't notice any issues

NHS website is good for checking drugs/side effects/alcohol reactions

Google says it's okay so long as you're not drinking excessively. As these sorts of drugs tend to be short acting I'd just lay off taking it before going boozing, i.e. have the morning dose but not the evening one. Maybe lay off it the next morning if it was a particularly heavy night but then folk take Ibuprofen for hang overs.

Well the half life of naproxen is 12 to 17 hours so it stays in your system for a long time. I didn't take any for 24 hours so there would still have been some still in your system. Not sure how much I drank but I spent best part of £200 and have some blank patches in my memory. Anyway no stomach bleeds so a good!

The leaflet in the box says it's fine.

No doctor will ever tell you it's safe to get hammered!
