Me too in my CGTS manual. Seems to be when i am on an uphill slope and driving off with electronic parking brake on. Select first (or so i think) and roll back. Put parking brake on again and repeat a few times. Never seems to happen when not on slope. Maybe something to do with the hold function.

Similar for me, easiest to do when on a slope, lucky I have the reversing beeper which beeps once when you go into reverse otherwise I may have reversed into someone by now.

The reverse in the Porsche is in the same direction as forwards in my other car, so it's doubly likely to happen. The result was that I reversed into a colleagues car with a right old thump. Not too expensive but very embarrassing.

I remember hearing someone give me a right old blast on the horn in traffic years ago, I had selected reverse by mistake, that was my old 928 S4 manual though, bloody embarrassing but it could of been worse!! I'm in the habit of looking at the gear-lever first in cars that I drive now, as I drive a lot of rental cars abroad....
