from our local paper.

NAITH HANCHARD, 41, of London Road, Brentwood, was given three penalty points and fined £220 for driving along the Southend Arterial Road at Laindon on February 8 at 48mph, in excess of the 40mph speed limit.

He must pay a £22 victim surcharge and £90 costs.

BRIAN DAVID BALKWILL, 53, of Costead Manor Road, Brentwood, was given three penalty points for driving along the A282, Dartford Crossing on January 21 at 59mph, in excess of the 50mph speed limit.

He was fined £233 and must pay a £23 victim surcharge and £90 costs.

They don't seem like they'd be worthy of the mags time? Did the guilty parties decline FPNs do you think?

Chunky fines as well.

They probably pleaded not guilty or didn't respond to the summons and were convicted in thier absence.

Speeding fines can get chunky, I was fined a total of £960 last week, and that included a discount for an early guilty plea.
