Midlands Dealer Recommendation
Discussion
Hi all.
Recently bought a 2013 SLK 55. It is due its 3rd year service early next year so wondered if anyone has a recommendation or two regarding Midlands MB dealerships who could be trusted to service my car.
I am in North Warwickshire, so easy to get to M6, M69, M1, M42, M40 corridors.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Are you asking for a recommendation of a Mercedes franchise dealership only or someone outside thoseRecently bought a 2013 SLK 55. who can service your car without negating any warranty and who will have the necessary expertise?
I am in Nottingham and use a MB independent specialist whose staff are all MB trained and came out of B&K Thomas Ltd which held the MB franchise here for over fifty years. The Thomas family themselves use these people.

Probably looking at MB franchise with the car being under MB warranty, in fact it has a 2 year warranty so would probably be going to an MB dealership for at least the next 2 services.
I know you can get servicing done outside the franchised network and still keep warranty, but with the car being new to me I do not want to take any chances and minimise the risks of being turned down on any warranty work.
So, yes, I'm looking for an MB franchise recommendation. Thanks for your suggestion, though, I will keep it for future reference.

Your reasoning makes perfect sense to me. I will ask the guys I deal with if they are aware of any outstanding Midlands dealerships who would be best placed to service your SLK 55.

Don't take it to MB at Tamworth. They are my local dealer and generally hopeless
+1. I tried Tamworth once with my first Merc 10 years ago and vowed never to go back. Was happy with MB Stourbridge for 9 years, but a change in personnel badly affected them so I tried MB Tamworth again - big mistake, so I'm going to put up with a less than perfect Stourbridge rather than give Tamworth a third try!Lakeland9 said:

The Nottingham dealership seems ok for my ML 350 but not quite as exotic as yours, I fear!
Thanks Lakeland9.The Nottingham dealership seems ok for my ML 350 but not quite as exotic as yours, I fear!
Would Derby, Leicester, Stafford or Coventry not be nearer for you if Tamworth is your local?
If you are willing to travel to Nottingham, it sounds like they may be worth a shout.
So far I have Walsall and Nottingham recommended, so thanks for those. I will look into them.

My car always goes to MB Drayton Walsall. They always seam to go the extra mile to please
Hi hilly10, taking it into MB Walsall next week. Seemed good on the phone, will let you know how I get on. 27 miles each way for me, but worth the extra few miles if they prove to be competent and helpful. Ullevi said:

Just reporting back.
Took the car into Walsall MB last week and I have to give them top marks.
From the initial phone call to resolving the issue they were pleasant, helpful, and efficient.
Despite never having used them before they booked me in quickly to diagnose strangely fluctuating water temp, loaned me a car for 2 days, one day to diagnose, order the part and next day to fix. A fan sensor was faulty. Replaced and I picked up the car next day, all back to normal.
All covered by warranty, no hassle, just very obliging.
27 miles from home, not too bad. Will be using them in future for servicing.
Thanks to you all for your suggestions and help.
