A bit of idle chit chat at work last week, made me remember the RC car i had as a kid. A quick visit to my mothers, up into the loft I go and its only sat there in the box. A 1986ish Tamiya Monster Beetle, complete with Transmitter & battery charger. Fired some batteries into the transmitter & its works, just need to purchase a new battery pack for the car so i can test it.

But then.............what shall i do with it? Not something I want to mess with anymore, no kids to pass it to. Is Ebay the best place to sell it? An un working version, with no charger or transmitter (controller) sold for £50 + £15 p&p on sunday so i reckon it could fetch £100ish? Your thoughts chaps.

Clean it up, put it in a class case and pop it on your mantle piece/book case etc.

Unfortunately, you're a couple of months too late. Tamiya have re-released the Monster Beetle and it can be found online for about £115, so that's going to hurt values of original cars. If it's an absolute minter with box and stuff you could still get a good price from a collector, but obviously that's a small market.

Check out Iconic.RC on Facebook and their sister page Iconic.RC Sales - you might have some luck on there.

I reckon you should get £75+ for it - market on eBay seems quite strong for vintage RCs - regardless of the re-releases people do still like the originals.

This, very possibly more if its good condition. Worth trying to sell it on the Tamiyaclub forums too as they don't charge for ad's unlike ebay.
