New carbon fibre thanks to CarbonFibreRepair.com - I think it looks pretty neat!
The 'marks' you can see are actually light reflections, the carbon is mint.
Very nice.... they are amazing there.. I was dropping some bits off yesterday to Brett.. and sooo tempted to get the cover for mine :-)The 'marks' you can see are actually light reflections, the carbon is mint.

Nice. This is what the original Mako blue V12 Vantage RS prototype had...
Is it a carbon fibre wrap of the original part or a newly fabricated carbon fibre part?
Yes, this is a fully new 100% carbon fibre part (no wrapping in sight!). Brett at CarbonFibreRepair.com made it for me, he didn't actually have the mould for the V12, so he borrowed my original cover and created one from it. Is it a carbon fibre wrap of the original part or a newly fabricated carbon fibre part?

I always find it odd when this happens.
A) "Look what I've got, isn't it nice"
B) "Yeah, that's proper lovely, I might like to get one. How much was it?"
A) "Not telling, ring them yourself"
Unless you are under NDA or got a special price for plugging it, why not just say?
The reason I didn't say it is because I worked out something with Brett, which no-one else will, based partly on the fact that this was the first time he had moulded the V12 part and so whatever price I give isn't going to be the same as what someone else will pay...A) "Look what I've got, isn't it nice"

So the story goes along the lines of - we traded some carbon parts, I sent my cover away in the post to them, receiving two pieces back, exchanged some cash etc., - you see what I mean, not really a straight forward "it was x-amount"...

Which is fair enough. So the story goes along the lines of - we traded some carbon parts, I sent my cover away in the post to them, receiving two pieces back, exchanged some cash etc., - you see what I mean, not really a straight forward "it was x-amount"...

Sorry for being a nark!

I don't want one, as fingers crossed my 3rd attempt will be successful, just wanted to compare to what others are charging. They are more difficult to make than it looks. It does look lovely and shiny.
Apparently the shininess is the difficult part, the Chinese bits tend to fade after a while so I hear and it's the final coating which makes the difference. I don't know what a quote would be but I imagine you're looking in the £600-£700 range - but don't hold me to that! V8V Pete said:
I think it looks great and might add it to my wish list but a couple of questions. Is the OEM part aluminium or steel? Does the cover have any structural function or is it just to hide/cover the radiators etc.?
I don't know what the metal is, but it is metal. I don't believe the cover offers any structural purpose - although - it does support the bonnet (and without it on, the bonnet pull lever does not engage and you have to 'lift' the bonnet slightly whilst pulling the lever - which is an interesting task on your own!).
