So if we use the button on the door handle to lock the car and just open it using the handle does that mean the code can't be intercepted?

Ie. don't use any of the buttons on the remote?

I use the fob occassionally at home but when out and about the key is invariably burried in a pocket somewhere and thus keyless entry is used.

Probably not impossible to steal codes that way but much harder. The keyless entry system only works when the key is within 1m of the door module so someone looking to jam/steal codes would have to be within the same distance.

Interesting. Quite an easy solution. I'll start trying to use the keyless system.

I must admit that despite having the keyless facility I usually use the remote through habit.
