Are their lending policies becoming more lax? I've got about £4k with them having put some money in in June and out of my £60 in interest since then, I have 3 late payments equating to £60. Assuming I have to write-off these loans, I've broken even in 4 months which doesn't seem worth it to me. If I sell my loans and cash out - what happens to the loans which are late?

The general rule is not to sell at a loss but hang in there and hope it bounces back. Welcome to risk/reward smile

I think the relevant phrases are 'Your money may go down as well as up' and 'It's a medium to long term investment Mr Prospect'.

I thought the 'Safeguard' offers meant you weren't exposed to defaults?

laugh Fully aware of that, but 5% isn't a particularly big reward for the risk IMO considering that some high street banks are offering 5% on balances of £2.5k.
