Visa commercial was 1.8% now 3% plus 1p

Does one also require a merchant account with your bank when using Worldpay or are their fees net between the customer and your bank account?

I currently have a HSBC merchant account and use Sage/Global Pay for online transactions.

Working fine but looking to reduce our overheads.

Thanks.

Ours are going up in January (Global Payments)

They are introducing a % based fee per debit card transaction rather than a fixed fee, something to do with new European regs.

All it means to me is that no doubt our monthly bill will increase. Wondering if all merchant services providers will switch away from a fixed debit card fee?

I have an "inclusive" package with Barclays ePDQ, £30 per month for 125 transactions per month.
£1 or so above that for all cards.

Suits me perfectly as payments are usually higher value, so it is better than a % rate.
There is a turnover threshold though, so I am expecting I will get moved to a different type of account when I reapply.

We are with Barclaycard. Rates were initially high, because we were a start-up. After a couple of years we said we were moving to a competitor, and the rates came down immediately.
