I've recently got a Panasonic DMR-PWT530EB9 Smart 3D Blu-ray Disc Player with 500GB HDD Recorder and Twin Freeview+ HD Tuners (2015 Model).

However, when setting it up it will only find 16 channels, my TV finds 138 so something is clearly amiss.

Has anyone else had such issues?

I'd plug the aerial directly into the box and see how it get's on. It's rare but if the aerial loops through a lot of boxes before the Pana it might cause too much signal loss (I know, shouldn't, but there you are)

This was with the aerial cable going directly to the box. I've contacted Panasonic customer services, but am still waiting...

I know this will seem obvious, but you have got the aerial going to the correct socket on the box?
There are probably two, one is in and one is out, dont assume that because the plug fits, that it is in the right hole.

If so try a factory reset of the box. This will force it to wipe the tuner memory and start again.

Check all your aerial leads too, as an aerial installer i can tell you many a tale of bad leads killing signal, people spend £1000 on a TV and 50p on an aerial lead!

The other thing you could check is if your tv is powering an aerial amplifier? Some tvs have the ability to do so and by unplugging the tv the amp has now died?

If the tv works fine you have enough signal, therefore its either wrongly wired, bad leads,or the blu ray unit is at fault.

Yes, the cables are all correct. I'm using the same aerial cable that works fine with the TV. I had another go after restoring it to shipping condition and it's now finding between 40 & 60 channels, although reception is poor and drops out on some of these. I've checked none of the cables cross each other and are fully unwound, if this makes much difference.

There is no aerial amplifier. I can only assume the tuner(s) in the player are not as good as the one in the TV?
