What makes this worth that much, assuming the offer was genuine? Admittedly she has 22m followers and monetises the site with a small shop and has adsense but still...

This is an older article on the site, impressive stuff:

Because of the commercial potential. Not many places where you can instantly pick up an highly targeted audience of 6.8m people.

Where do you get the $30m from? Can't see it on the page (if its the correct page.)

Also shortened link so censor thing doesn't mess it up. http://on.mash.to/1kkvLCP

So data basically? Her FB audience is 22.5m so that's only a bit over a dollar a follower...

+ all the users who don't follow the account but see the posts when a follower likes or shares them.

"You like it, your friends like it, scientists hate it"

Yea, I thought as much, it's terrible clickbait crap.

Load of Rubbish, she doesn't own the page, FB could pull the page at any point, or more likely, make a change to the way the whole site works which renders the page obsolete for some reason. Zero chance anyone is offering $30 million for that.

You could say the same thing about Twitter feeds, Instagram pages, Domain names. They're all rented and yet people will pay silly money to transfer the "rights" to them.

I imagine the 30m was for the website and FB page...
