There is a 420SEAC in LHD for sale but seems a bit pricey. Then again, it could be an exception !!!

That'll be the Saudi car then. Wonder how it ended up in the USA.

In the States with an English registration - how does that work?

There was 3 cars, one was broken, one went missing, the other was owned by my friend for 10+ years, (the one now in the USA). he sold it to stright6/8 who done a complete restore for a USA customer and shipped to the USA.

Interesting Leigh - so the ad could be slightly misleading by referring to it as the only one if there may be at least one other unaccounted for.

Well the 3rd one has been missing ever since it went to Saudi,as with lots of car that go over there, they get put in big collections or warehouses and just get lost. so hard to say.

Confusing... I believe there's at least two other LHD SEACs and I suspect more. The Saudi (Green) car surfaced on here a few years ago, green with air con and very heavily insulated fuel rails (unsurprisingly!). Back on UK plates at that time but I've not heard of it since.

The production records of SEACs are vague in the extreme - mine's registered as a TVR 'Sports'. TVR were trying to fool the homologation people at the time to try and race the SEAC in a 'production' sports car race class. Smoke and mirrors...

The Saudi SEAC used to be owned by a chap just down the road from me. I guess it was back in 96 or 97 that I popped round to see it whilst he was working on it and he had been hoovering sand out of the foot wells. At that time it was black with grey interior like the one in the add. His father had been involved in the sale of it somehow and brought it back if my memory serves me correctly, which is why he had ended up with it. I also think there were around three left hand drive ones and that one was pictured in the SEAC gathering photo in Sprint back in 95 though I can't remember the colour. Might still have that copy buried somewhere.

The Black one on the add was owned by Martin, based just north of London, used to goto the herts and beds meetings.

The Black one in the add at the top of the page, is a 420SEAC and did come back from Saudi.

maybe that 450SE was over there also. but AFAIK the above is the only SEAC that ever came back from the 3 that went to Saudi in the mid 80's

The car is at a dealer and can have the UK reg on it until it goes for a local reg.
My imported 350i still has the front UK reg plate on it since the local police don't seem to car!

That's my old SEAC smile

It originally went to Qatar but was only out there for 4 years or so before coming back to the UK. There were problems re-registering it on it's return, TVR were initially reluctant to confirm it's identity to the DVLA as they thought it was the other 420SEAC from the Middle East which was written off over there (I was told it's body work melted in the heat).

I owned it for 13 years and took it to the two SEAC meet ups back in the mid 90's and it was featured in the April '95 issue of Classic and Sportscar magazine too.
