Will we just end up with one manufacturer in the US and one in Europe?

I couldn't see Lockheed Martin buying Boeing or vice versa but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just them left at some point.

They won the new bomber contract, which (assuming they don't screw it up) means that they're safe for 50 years or so. The rumour is that Boeing will get out of military now, leaving Lockheed who have the fighters and transports, and Northrop-Grumman who now have the bombers and helicopters.
