Here's a copy of Frank Versteegh's Budapest video -
www.aerobatics.nl had to take the original offline
owing to demand, its 30MBytes of the best one of
the best aerobatics video, ever....

Right Click, Save As...

..available until it shreds my NTL bandwidth limit.

For me, some Extra 300 time beckons - I'm lucky that
three ex-members of our Yak group form the part of
the new WLAC Extra 300 group....it's the mid-wing
variety though, meaning the visibility from the
back seat can be a bit of a challenge.....and interaction
with airfield furniture is causing me my current
ongoing headache.....

When Yakky Met PAPI

...not me guv, but taxiing across 29 to 03 in a low
sun, PAPIs in a dip, could have happened to anybody -
hoping to have the new engine and prop by the end
of the month....

Extras are brilliant to watch, but Sukhois are even better.

Ouch! That had been based there for quite a few years. Glad they were ok. Was/is it repairable?

Oh Lord. I was aware of the incident, but hadn't
heard that fuel contamination was the cause. Glad
to hear the crew are now OK. It hasn't been a good
winter for Yaks - there was another foreign object
loss-of-control incident before Christmas - a mobile
phone in this case, but happily they managed to bring
it back - I fly with 2 ex-members of the group who
suffered the sadly fatal accident a couple of years
back - we naturally have a heightened awareness of
the loose object problem, but I'll be highlighting
the water/fuel aspect of this accident with the
group.

Was due to fly with Gennady Elfimov up at Wolverhampton
this weekend, but the weather has nobbled that - it's
getting a bit frustrating - first competition is 9
weeks away, I'm as rusty as hell and the plane is
knackered for the rest of the month....but, then,
seeing those photos reminds me it could be a lot worse.

Cheers,

Ed.
