Has anybody tried this?

Should save 20kg ish, get me lower in the car and wouldn't look too 'aftermarket'

Do they fit? Is there an existing subframe that would make it work?

Any help gratefully received.

Can't help with your query but if you want lower and original looking the GT3 (option) seats go straight in and people have put the 987 seats in too.

Careful going too low, the steering wheel won't follow..

Not sure about later Lotus Elise seats, but early ones are amongst the most thinly padded (and uncomfortable as a result) ones I've used. My Elise S1 had cloth seats - the leather ones were said to be even less comfortable!

By a strange coinkidunk, someone on the Boxster Forum has just fitted a pair of 987 seats.

Caution - it's a long thread and the seats are on the very last page!

You're right about the S1 seats - awful.
I was thinking of the S3 probax seats. A better shape and more padding but still very light.
Not seen any at a tempting enough price though.

Had them in an Mx5. Great on track...horrible everywhere else!
