Hi all, spent a few hours checking over the 390Se today and adjusting a fair few bits and pieces. I went to check the headlights and the near side one came half up and then stuck. I turned the switch off but it just stayed there and then started smoking away. By the time I'd pulled the fuse the smoking had stopped and I suspect the motor is burnt out. The headlights work independently of the ignition. So I need a new motor - I've checked flea and nothing on there, apart from an offside one at Douglas Valley breakers. Anyone know if they are interchangeable? Rimmer advertise two different types of reconditioned ones - anyone had any experience with them?

Other issue is the Cibie driving lamps - one has no bulb in it. The lamp says H8 on the reflector but the bulb looks like the following:

I've tried searching for a suitable replacement but struggling to find one. Again any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Edit - i see on the parts hoard that Crispian22 has a pair of pods and motors - anyone know who he is and if he still has them?

Thanks gents. Bulbs ordered and I'll call Robsport in the morning. As you say Mark - slightly more normal problems! Cheers.

Hi Keith,
Neil at ML performance sorted out a new pod motor for me earlier on in the year, about £100 plus a refundable £50 deposit upon return of the old motor.
Hope this helps,
Tim

Thanks Tim. I'll double check the wiring in the morning and then get one ordered up. I'll check Rob Sport and Neil to see who has one stock. I used to use Robsport years ago when I had my TR6 so I know they and Neil both offer a great service. Cheers.

Headlamp all sorted. The issue was the old motor was held in by only one very loose screw instead of three tight ones so the whole motor twisted and locked tight. The motor tried to raise/lower the pod but just burnt itself out.

Anyway new one from RobSport (thanks again Mark) arrived today - superb service and very good price. took an hour to strip the old one, clean all the mechanisms and refit the new one and lock wire the bolts in.

Job's a good un.
