Plenum, trumpet and rocker gaskets
Discussion
Hey guys,
Last time I took the car out I noticed that my fuel rail was weeping...not ideal! The jubilee clips I used were slightly too big so changing them to a smaller size which will sort the issue.
Whilst I have the rail off, I will fona bit of cleaning and painting however the trumpet and plenum are both sealed without gaskets (I used instant gasket sealer before on the plenum.
There was no gasket at all on the trumpet base-has anyone else used one? Seen thermal gaskets from act. One of the trumpets was also loose! Any idea what to glue it back with??
Lastly, the rocker gaskets, rubber, need replacing too. I bought some a while back but they are cork? Are these OK?
Cheers!

The plenum and trumpet bases have been off both my cars and neither had a gasket, just a smear of red hermetite. Both were cleaned up and re-assembled the same and appear to be all okay.
I've heard that rubber rocker cover gaskets are better but again my both went with cork units and there're no leaks (so far!).

I have blue hylomar on my plenum which came recommended over anything else...Thanks Adam for reminding me what that stuff is again....Im going to re-label it as i have nearly chucked it out twice.....
Oh i forgot to say that i used the rubber gaskets but make sure if you do to get the ones with the tabs on the outer edges and the metal eyelets for the bolts...Some nice new SS rocker cover and plenum bolts are always nice too.

No worries Adam!
It's actually pretty tight so I've siliconed it in to stop it moving.
Thus is the product I have used and always been impressed with it
