I run a small electrical and heating contractors business. I'm would like to setup a stock control system where staff fill out a app on their phones after each job and this then updates the stock levels. Ideally I could track van and warehouse stock as well as certain tools.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

we use Brightpearl which would do what you're after but would be a very big hammer for a very small nut and you'd need some sort of integration to do the updates by an app.

I can't think of any app based stock control systems but I would say you're probably looking at putting a lot of money into having somebody develop something for you if you either can't find a suitable system or you do find a suitable system but need somebody to build an integration for it.

There is a system called 'Planet FM' that is fairly cheap and allows you to track Jobs and Stock and works on smart phones.

Would do the Job.

Xero (accounts), connected to Dear Inventory. http://dearsystems.com/inventory-software/

Absolutely fantastic, and I have had years of experience with expensive and overrated systems.

One of many reviews: https://community.xero.com/business/discussion/221...

Plus it will also connect to all common web shop systems if needed, and you can try free for a month.
