Dash button manual central locking...

Hello, question about this dash button on my car; 1995 - 500;

When pressed inside the car (ignition on) the doors are locked from outside and the green light comes on so that is ok...but

when i press this button again nothing happens the doors will not unlock only when i use the inside door handle is this ok or is there someting wrong with this button / central lockingrelay, from my mind they should unlock when pressed again?

The original Foxguard alarm is still working; both doors will lock when the alarm is activated!

This is normal, it only locks the doors.

and don't make the mistake of pressing it when trying to find the hazzard button and get out of the car (in the dark on the hard shoulder of the motoway is a storm) cos you will be locked out when you go to get back in I won't make that mistake ever again
