Reg plate question

Hi all,

Ive just put a deposit down on a Lister Bell STR, Stratos replica, I have a bit of time to wait for the chassis to be built.

One of the main parts I need is the V6 from a 166 or 156. If I were to buy a second hand engine, and then get the engine professionally rebuilt, when the car is all built, would I be able to register the car on the new year number plate?

As I am aware, if you only use one reconditioned part in the build and you can prove provenance on the other components being brand new then you will still be able to use a new registration plate.
