It's a Christmas present for swmbo as she hates my rather fruity Exige
, needs a basic tidy up, but has S2 suspension, recent brakes and clutch along with a pretty decent service history.
Will need the soft top refurbished before good weather.
Funny story.....
I bought a silver hardtop and brand new team dynamics with unused T1R's last month, turned out to be from this car! Part exchanged at dick Lovett then farmed out to the trader I've bought from. Still had the phone number of the seller so was handy to get a background of the car from the previous owner.
Will spend half a day on it tomorrow after collection so will update with some pics.

Strangely enough I've a friend whose just bought a '99 S1 Elise with 29k miles on the clock. His isn't quite a stock car as it has GAZ suspension, a Hurricane induction kit, sports exhaust & a detachable steering wheel. I'll hopefully post some pics in due course as its in being given a major service plus some other bits & pieces (it's been in storage for the last 5 yrs!) 
Funny - I've seen this car for sale for a little while. I've recently bought an S1 too (in silver - thread to go up soon). Bog standard 118bhp and it's a joy to drive! 
Sending mine to a local specialist soon for a thorough inspection (I know it's a good car but I want to ensure it's mechanically perfect before I get carried away buying bits and pieces for it!). Also bought some T1-R's that are in fact going on tomorrow!

Got it back to my mums place where I will give it some TLC before the wife gets the car on Christmas Day....
Replaced the rimstocks with some new TD1.2's and added some black stone guards...
Peeled back the vinyl mats to discover the usual problem....
Not that bad though only lightly pitted....
Other jobs to do include, new pads and discs reqd, soft top needs a refurb and then I'll just go through the car to replace any missing bolts or bits of trim etc...

I thought seeing as i had a bit of spare time i'd update this thread, the exige project has stalled a little mainly down to lack of time on both mine and darrens (Alitech) part so the Elise has received rather more TLC and upgrades than previously planned!
pictures not in any particular order and i'm sure i'll miss out some bits that have been changed/done...
front clam came off, almost all the fixings came out ok bar a couple that required drilling out and then some new rivnuts installed, new stainless tow post to replace the rusted one and a new ally rad with new fan, new driving light brackets too...
new silicone hoses for the rad....
complete suspension refresh which included all new ball joints and bushes, powdercoating of wishbones & new nitron shocks, these were cup spec shocks direct from lotus but the springs were way too firm so have been swapped out...
lots of external bits done, the outer waist seals were buggered so new pattern ones sourced, i also managed to buy the last available inner felt seals!...
replaced the tired bent looking rear diffuser with a standard length but 4 fin one from defuseco on ebay....
Lights have always been a huge pain on the S1, they always rust away! So i bought some 3D printed brackets and a pair of plastic lights (glass lens) lights aren't concave like the cibie units but you can barely notice behind the covers, a decent trade off for them not rusting....
Internally i have fited a barely used MOMO wheel and snap off boss bought for £125 from gumtree, absoloute bargain! A pair of brand new VX220 seats in red leather, Sourced a genuine full carpet set from lotus that covers the tub upto the sills, makes day to day driving that little bit nicer, was so cheap i bought another set as a spare, then the best bargain of full interior trim that had been retrimmed in carbon leather and red alcantara....
So too the business end of things, Victory wheels, new eliseparts high flow manifold, close ratio gearbox and lightweight flywheel and the icing on the cake a DVA K04 throttle body,cams and emerald kit mapped by Dan Webster at HPE...
The most recent change has been a new registration number...
Overall i'm hugely pleased with how it's progressed, there's lots of little bits replaced that i've not photographed like all new arch liners, powdercoated grilles, fixings replaced etc..... apart from the body work which shows signs of the dreaded micro blistering it's a cracking car, that would be adressed if and when i ever get a house with a double garage to house it over winter, i'd hate to spend out on a respray and the blisters to return regardless.
