I'm going on Saturday, booked in for a seminar and then a general mooch around.

I'll report back on my impressions but wondered if anybody on here went on launch day?

I went last night. Had a good look at the H.Moser et cie stand, fabulous watches. Was also very taken with 'Moritz Grossman' a German watchmaker from Glasshute. In particular the Benu power reserve in Platinum..

Tudor had a big stand showing the range, the Black Bay Black is superb, a fantastic watch for the money. I may even buy one!

Berry Brothers and Rudd made a good showing as did the Seven Friday bar on the 2nd floor. I had a few whiskey sours with one of the owners of Urwerk, and a very good informative chat about their pieces.

If you're going you'll have a great time!

Thanks for the info, I'm looking forward to it.

Just gotta decide what to wear on my wrist.

I'm dining at Quaglinos that evening so quite a day in store.

We had a work trip there Friday courtesy of one of our suppliers and it was great.
The Tudor stand was very interesting and tempting s well.
I was also very taken with some of the U-Boat watches - in particular the U51 black and bronze. I've always had a soft spot for U-boat watches and their stand did nothing to stop me wanting another (already have a Flightdeck).
The other brand I saw and liked wannabe very clever Hilda watch. This is two movement modules usable with a single strap, and you can change modules without removing the strap first. Beautiful quality and lovely watches as well. I was particularly taken with the Nurburgring limited edition (20pcs @£12k each).

One thing I've noticed is that as you walk round you start looking at £5k watches thinking that's my budget, then after an hour (and several watches in the £50k plus bracket) that £10k watch you thought expensive suddenly seems very reasonable!

How does a U-boat Flightdeck work then?

Ahh, I get it, it's an upside down thing. A flightdeck on a u-boat is obviously doing things upside down, so the watch compensates by putting the valjoux movement upside down as well, all the buttons on the left hand side and the 12, 9, 6 subdials the other way around as well! 2 negatives make a positive; I like the logic!

It's a good looking watch by the way, so apart from being a little bit upside down, I really like it.

Cheers, I do quite like it.
What you can't see is the size... its huge. 50mm without the crown, and about 13mm thick. And its heavy.
Not everyone's cup of tea but its a fun thing to wear occasionally.
