Am fortunate to be heading to Copenhagen on Monday and have a table booked at Noma for my birthday on the Tuesday. Any one been? What should I be expecting, food and service perfection? Its been top of my must do lists for a few years so had to get while possible.

I've heard that the service experience is actually pretty casual but you might get some unexpected things on the plate. I'd love to go, Rene Redzepi is one of my favourite chefs

Apparently he's closing the restaurant next year to start a new project in a warehouse on the outskirts of Copenhagen. He'll be growing all the food for the kitchen on site.

Yep it's amazing. It was some years ago now, a few months before it got it's third star. Fabulous food, and the ambiance was just right, very calm and comfortable.

Loved it.

If you are staying in the region a while I'd like to recommend a restaurant across the water (in Malmo) called Bloom. Used to have customers in Malmo and we always went here for lunch. No menu which I always find refreshing, and again very nice and calm atmosphere and great food.

A bit, but then it is then it has been voted the world's best restaurant. According to their web site 1700 DKK (£160) for the meal and 1100 DKK (£103) for the wine pairings which lets face it you'd have to have. So £263 all in. I'd be very happy to pay it for a once in a lifetime experience. I'm very jealous of the OP, enjoy it.

Amazing experience, service was fairly informal but impeccable and your really made to feel special, I couldn't fault the food in any way and it was by far the best I have had (blows The Fat Duck, Waterside Inn etc. out of the water)even some of the dishes that you might think would be a bit noithingy (cabbage leaves) were a taste sensation. Wine parings were excellent and one was especially spectacular with the course it came with, big praise from someone whos not really in to wines!

We had a guided tour of behind the scenes, kitchens and a good chat to one of the chefs (young guy from Newcastle) and all the staff seem to be killing themselves to produce the food and experience for the guests. Not sure how they do it to be honest but I am very grateful they do!

It was expensive at £800 for two including a pre dinner glass of bubbly each and a decent tip but its a once in a lifetime experience so who cares!

The food in Copenhagen in general was very good and we didn't have a bad meal while there. It seems to be a very good foodie destination at the moment.

If you can do it do it soon as its closing in its current location, moving to Australia then back to Copenhagen at a new larger restaurant location at some point in the not too distant future.
