Dropped IWC now gaining time!
Discussion
My lovely daughter thought it would be a good idea to play with my IWC Aquatimer and dropped it on a tiled floor, it's damaged the case (photos below) and is now gaining approx 5 seconds per minute! Aside from sending it back to IWC any ideas what could be wrong with it?
It's really frustrating as I was considering swapping it for something else in the very near future as I just don't wear it!

The gain is likely to be simple and easy - most likely cause is the hairspring caught up on its stud (effectively shortens the spring by a full coil and causes BIG gains).
Assuming that's what's happened, another one for the RBL jar if you'd like it sorted.
The case damage is a bit more serious - doubt there's any way to disappear that completely without a re-case but could probably be made less obvious.

Rocco from watchworks could possibly laser weld and lap that case.... IF you can get a reply from him (I have been unsuccessful so far).
Another vote for Rocco at Caseworks, he did a case restoration on a vintage Omega for me. The standard of work is superb. I found that the best contact was the phone, email is patchy.Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
