All,

I have a Nikon D3200 and have bought a 32GB card. Its a SanDisk 32GB ultra 40MB/S card.

I have tried recording basic video - only 13 seconds and it doesnt like it..... Should i be able to view the video via the camera?

Any ideas why it is so slow?

Thanks

Sounds like you need a faster memory card. - Video needs a constant supply of data to be written to the memory card. Cheaper / slower SD cards just aren't designed for fast, sustained data transfer like this.

Link above recommends class 6 or faster. I'd go for the fastest you can go for (within reason) - added bonus, as faster cards will copy off to computer quicker too.

This are great value right now: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDXC/SanDisk/SanDisk-64G...

I bought them when they were £100 a go!

Initial googling revealed it to be a Class 10, so I wondered if it's a genuine Sandisk card.

I have purchased a 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC UHS-1 Class 10 speed up to 80MB/s.

I will give it a try.

From a reputable retailer I hope smile

Also consider Lexar Pro; they've served me well for 11 years.

I bought it from Costco - £19.99.

I have checked the other cards, they all seem real - althought they come up with a odd logo in Windows explorer.
I have re-formatted all cards and they seem to be running better.

When i bought my first didital camera, a 8GB card was £20. Now a 64GB card is the same money.....

keep an eye on the amazon prices, they fluctuate but you can pick them up dirt cheap when they're low.

Other than that yea, sounds like a duff card, I have an ultra card which can record video in my 60D, though it's only used as a spare now as I've bought loads of cheap extreme cards (I like to have lots)
