Can anyone help to enhance this picture

Someone on my thread in spl suggested maybe trying in here to see if I can get this picture enhanced. Long story short. Wife's car hit by this chap who left without giving details. She took this rubbish pic to try and get the full reg. As you can see. It didn't really work. Can anyone do some majic? I'm not sure how to post the full pic. Here's a link to it on photo bucket? Does that work?

Sorry - not a prayer with that. The image is heavily compressed and the pixel compression artefacts on the reflective plate has melded into almost a single colour.

Had a quick fiddle in Photoshop, but channel filters can't resolve any detail.

I've seen it on CSI..

They have a special button for it you know. you do have to press it several times though.

If it helps, i think i got ##05 YZ# from fiddling about with it. Pretty certain on the 05, Y a bit vague and best guessing at the Z. Z looks more like a 3 but don't think there'd be a 3 there on the plate.

Edit - didn't read your other thread first, this is pretty similar to what you already have with the partial. I'd probably go for E as the first letter too.
