Trying to track down a Balkan dish probably a desert

Anybody here from the Balkans specifically former Yugoslavia.

We used to holiday there every year until I was around 15. I loved the place I loved the food.


There is one dish that just popped in my head out of nowhere.

I vaguely remember it being like a grey rectangular slab. Pretty sure it was like a savoury pudding ish thing quite thick consistency

Sort of remember it being malty flour like the inside of a malteser. You didn't eat it with anything else just like it was.

Any ideas?

I thought it was but when I was in Israel i found some in the airport bought a ton of it at incredibly expensive prices then had to bin it as it was disgusting

just researching after you reminded me of the name it seems there are two types some made with sesame and some with semolina.

Yugoslav made with semolina is called Alva. that's probably it. now i need to track down a recipe.
